These are not everyday working collars for playing in the mud. These are your dog's "Sunday Best", for those special occasions when you want to dress up and show off your companion! We use screws instead of rivets wherever possible, especially on collars for larger dogs. It makes for a more secure attachment of the buckles and leash rings, and it's a symbol of a higher degree of quality. Here, for example, is the back side of the buckle and keeper attachment on a collar for a Bullmastiff. We try to use screwback fasteners instead of rivets whereever possible
Leash Ring at the Back Leash Ring at the Back For an additional $10 we will put the leash attachment ring on the back of the dog's neck. This is something we have started doing to keep the collar from constantly being rotated back and forth around the dog's neck. With this arrangement, the buckle stays under the dog's neck and is not constantly being dragged back and forth when you put on or take off the leash. (Normally we will use screwback fasteners - The photo here shows the use of the Special Upgrade Conchos to attach the leash ring strap.)
But, if you prefer, we will leave the leash ring in the conventional spot, next to the buckle. Or, in the case of one of the Special Upgrade Buckles that includes a decorative keeper for the strap, it will be next to the keeper as shown here in this beautiful red collar with a "Pink Canyon" buckle. The standard price of $99 includes your choice of top quality decorative or strap buckles shown here. (Note: Some of the decorative sets include a buckle, keeper, and a tip. We do not normally use the tip because it makes the collar heavier and more unwieldy. However you can have it added at no extra charge if you wish.)
The standard price also includes your choice of standard rhinestones, decorative rivets, spikes, and/or simple conchos in whatever pattern you like.

For an additional fee of $25 we will carve/paint a picture or pattern into the leather,
or paint the stamped letters a different color than the rest of the collar.

This is no Chinese or Mexican factory assembly line. Corinthian Leatherworks is an all-American operation right in the heart of cattle country near Fort Worth, Texas. We thrive on the smell of beefy leather and dyes. So we pick out our own hand-selected, veg-tanned cowhide shoulders and cut our own straps of leather to whatever width we want. We dye them to the color our customers want, and we do all the work with hand tools and our industrial leather sewing machine.

To make the collar more comfortable where it will be spending most of its time against your dog's neck, we round off ("bevel") the bottom 2 edges and coat the entire bottom surface with a special leather balm to seal it and make it smooth and soft.

Finally, we apply 6-8 coats of glossy waterproof finish on the top side to bring out the richness of the colors, and to make it shine enough to put the sun to shame!

You'll be able to join us in smelling the rich leather smell every time you get near your doggie. And your dog will have a constant aromatic reminder that only the best is good enough for him!

 
Specify width and length desired. Small to medium dogs typically use 1/2 to 3/4 inch width, where larger dogs can tolerate collars up to 1.5 inches in width. For length, place a tape measure around your dog's neck where the collar will normally sit. We'll give you 2 extra holes either side of the measurement spot, but let us know if the dog is still growing.

Typical price of $99 includes collar, your choice of standard buckles and an average amount of custom dying and personalization. Upgraded Canyon Series buckles, carving, hand-painting, and rear leash attachment are available for an additional fee, but we will let you know that up front after we see your customization request. Shipping is extra and based on time frame desired. This item is hand made and requires a substantial amount of labor to build it. Turnaround time from placement of order to shipment is normally 1 week, but can be expedited to 2 days with payment of $25 rush fee.
